I'd like to claim that this is the album with the most hidden gems from Herbert Grönemeyer. This certainly doesn't apply to the opening track "Musik nur wenn sie laut ist", which hopefully will be found in every top 10 list of the artist. Perhaps the terrible cover has put off many buyers. The song "Kaufen" describes the corresponding addiction, which, given the current economic situation, is probably only known among the very wealthy. Well, if love weren't so terribly beautiful, one might think, although we would then miss out on such a bittersweet chorus as "Komm zurück, ich liebe Dich / bleib doch weg, ist mir auch egal / Du bist mir zu nah / Liebe, dieses klebrige Wort" in "Komm zurück". The male love for a car described in "Kadett" is incomprehensible to me and, by the way, I misinterpreted the rock 'n' roll chorus for years. Even if I'm jumping ahead here: The farewell song "Moccaaugen" describes the situation of a suicide who kills himself because of a woman. The whole thing is described with very harsh words that make you think. Every rent boy in the station toilet could perhaps misinterpret the lyrics of "Etwas Warmes".
