Similar to "Chant," which was also laid down in '61, this one saw the light of day a bit later in the decade. Looking back, I'd say I enjoy these two records more than "Cat Walk" and "Royal Flush," which came out when they were recorded. This is an amazing group, featuring the usual Blue Note rhythm section of Higgins and Warren, backed by Hancock, Byrd, and Shorter. The tracks are all pretty great, mostly Byrd's compositions with a few, including the extra song, by Hancock. I honestly can't find anything to complain about here, it's likely my top pick from Byrd.
