If you're a fan of the spacey, droney, and dark side of ambient music, this Solar Fields album is, hands down, the top pick. I appreciate the artistry and expertise in their other works, but when stacked up against "Extended", they come off as more laid-back, psy-chill vibes. It's not exactly "dark" ambient, nor does it have any eerie or frightening elements. It's just stunning music that goes deep. Would definitely recommend it to others.
If you're a fan of the cosmic, droning, and shadowy side of ambient music, this Solar Fields album is, without a doubt, their finest work yet. While I appreciate the artistry and expertise in their other releases, compared to "Extended", they seem more like lighthearted, psy-chill background tunes. It's not exactly "dark" ambient, nor does it have any eerie or frightening elements. It's just incredibly beautiful music that resonates with depth. I'd strongly suggest giving it a listen.
Incredible. The glowing atmospheres and gentle sadness of Solar Fields remind me of the soul's yearning to go back to where it belongs. Stunning soundscapes and textures lead you on an inner journey of happiness that's tough to say goodbye to. Magnus truly knows his stuff. I'd suggest every track to anyone.
This CD from Discogs is way overhyped. Listen to the samples or grab the mp3s before spending your money on it. It's a huge disappointment. The artist tries to add some scary vibes in the middle tracks, which falls flat. It got pretty awkward playing this at work after track 3. There are only 2 tracks worth keeping. Instead, check out H.U.V.A. Network's 'Distances' from the same label. Update for 2017: Better yet, get Solar Fields' 'Mirror's Edge' soundtrack.
Magnus, you've truly outdone yourself with this album. As someone who loves ambient music, I must say, it's absolutely top-notch. Thanks a bunch for this incredible creation!
