Spotless edition. Exceptional pressing quality with pristine, rich sound. Gorgeous gatefold cover and vinyl shade. Just what this album merits. Adore it 5/5
What's the way to spot the distinction between Orange Green and that Green Mustard vinyl shade? I've got both, and I'm aiming to keep the Green Mustard one unopened. But honestly, I can't see any difference, am I overlooking something here?
The green/mustard variant is an awesome pressing, the sound quality is incredable.
The electronic music scene is currently facing a crisis – a surge of producers who are skilled with technology but lack genuine musical ability. If you can create a basic beat with a kick, clap, and hi-hat, and throw in a few random notes, you're seemingly set. This appears to be the common approach these days. Then there's Birgersson. Ambient producers can't hide behind beats, and Birgersson's debut full-length upbeat album showcases this brilliantly. Each track is a masterclass in storytelling, with a consistent melodic theme that flows naturally from start to finish – something many producers struggle with. His basslines and percussion are impressively well-crafted too. This is progressive trance at its finest: uplifting, danceable, and captivating, but never excessive. The extended length of each track allows for a gradual build-up of tension, often releasing in a beautiful burst of melody in the final moments. But what truly sets this album apart is Birgersson's meticulous attention to detail. Certain sounds or noises appear just once per track, leaving you eager to hear them again on your next listen. It's been nearly two years since this album's release, and I'm still captivated by the intricate layers of melody that I'm yet to fully uncover. Highly recommended.
