Perhaps my top pick from Monk's discography - this one feels deeply personal and reflective to me, quite a departure from Brilliant Corners that preceded it. I'm absolutely loving it.
Absolutely fantastic release. The craftsmanship, packaging, every detail is just top-notch - I'm way more into these tip-on jackets than gatefolds, and this is what the Blue Note Classic 80 series should've aimed for.
The sound quality on this is absolutely breathtaking. We're truly in a golden era for Jazz vinyl re-releases at the moment.
One of my top Monk records, and happily it's been re-released the right way. Lovely tip on the cover, super clean pressing, and fantastic mastering.
