In fairness, this specific version is quite enjoyable to listen to... The Who can be a tough act for those seeking an audiophile experience; at some point, we have to accept things as they are. Plus, I wonder about the need for certain albums to aim for top-notch audio quality: Does music recorded in a garage really have to match masterpieces like studio albums such as Dark Side of the Moon or maybe Aja, or any other high-quality recorded album... On the flip side, there are tracks on this album that deserve the highest quality remix or remaster.

This lp sounds real great. Go for it if you come across one.
While not ranking among my top picks from The Who, I'm not disappointed to have this album in my collection. The pressing itself, though, really impressed me. There's hardly any surface noise, and the instrument separation and detail are quite noticeable. Given that you can find good-condition copies for a reasonable price, I'd recommend grabbing it if you're a fan of the band.
Turns out MCA Coral is a budget line, yet it's sourced from the original master cut at The Mastering Lab by Doug Sax and it sounds fantastic.
