The 2017 remastered/re-released version of this 80s new wave classic. Talk Talk should be acknowledged as one of the most groundbreaking & skilled bands from that time. Amazing alchemy happens with these 4 band members, each adding to the blend that is TT.

  • Good Sound, Less Sharp

    4 out of 5 stars
    gabajeb30218October 7, 2024United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Stacking this up against a genuine 1982 US pressing, the energy and range are present, but they're not quite as sharp and detailed as the original. Perhaps they felt the original lacked some breathing room, so they've added a touch more! It's still a pretty good sounding record, but have your volume control handy.

  • Silent, Flat, and Authentic

    4 out of 5 stars
    RudxikafwubAugust 19, 2024United KingdomπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

This version is truly amazing. It's perfectly flat, centered, and runs completely silent. The cover is an exact match to the original UK edition and is worth having just for that reason alone. But remember, the original mix wasn't that great, so don't anticipate an audiophile quality sound for this new wave classic.

  • Punchy Sound Dynamics

To me, it sounds great! The sound is nice and punchy with awesome dynamics!

  • Album Tests System Limits

I can't say for certain if this is the top-notch version of this album, as I'm pretty sure it isn't, but it's definitely a great way to give your system a run for its money. This album is packed with so much happening all at once!

About Talk Talk

Talk Talk, formed in London in 1981, began as a synth-pop group, quickly gaining traction with their debut album "The Party's Over" and follow-up "It's My Life," both of which spawned international hits like "Talk Talk" and "It's My Life." Their sound evolved significantly over the years, blending new wave and synthpop elements with more experimental and jazz-influenced styles. The band's 1986 album "The Colour of Spring" was a critical success, featuring the beloved singles "Life's What You Make It" and "Living in Another World." Their 1988 release "Spirit of Eden" marked a bold shift towards a more atmospheric and improvisational sound, laying the groundwork for the post-rock genre. Despite commercial challenges, Talk Talk's innovative approach and rich musical evolution have left a lasting impact on the music world.
