My vinyl has a tad of surface hiss, but it's a fantastic damn brown disc. Sturgill really nails the bluegrass and old-timey vibe here. It's an awesome and satisfying musical journey.
This one's the winner! The indie coloured vinyl version is a real letdown, poorly made and sounds all scratchy, but the standard black vinyl is perfect, super quiet, and lets the music truly shine!
The indie vinyl edition is truly disappointing. The first copy I received had a repeating burst of distortion in the last song on side 1, and the initial few tracks on side 2 were quite noisy with lots of crackles and pops, which did lessen a bit by the third track. I tried to swap it, and while side 1 is now fine, side 2 still has the same pressing noise as the first copy. This is even after I gave it a thorough wet/vac cleaning. Seems like the black vinyl version is the way to go.
This album sounds absolutely amazing, it's such a delightful and wonderful listen. I'm truly enjoying every moment of it.
Zero surface noise on this one. What a blast to listen to!
