Hi there! I received my copy, but it only has the first inner sheet. If anyone could scan the second one in high resolution and email it to me, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks a bunch!
This Blackened pressing is a bit of a gamble. I've come across numerous reports from other listeners who've found issues with their copies. My first one had awful pops on sides 3 and 6, right in the middle of Hero of the Day, Bleeding Me, and One! Swapped it for another, and this time, not a single flaw. *shrugs* The sound is rich, bass-heavy, and if you're using decent gear, you'll definitely notice the orchestra blends seamlessly with the band when it's needed. *edit* I celebrated too soon. One on side 6 is still a popping, skipping disaster! Even Enter Sandman was rough. At least Battery is perfect…
Well done, except for the first track on side one, it's trash, that Ecstacy of Gold Intro. Not the whole song, just the first 30/40 seconds or so. The pressing on my copy is definitely messed up, you can see it. The rest of the record is fantastic.
Shortened (missing "Of Wolf and Man," "One," and "Outlaw Torn"-- three standout tracks on this album-- plus others), and the audio quality's pretty damn muddy. For a collector, it's best to steer clear.
In my view, this is one of the greatest albums I've ever listened to. Perhaps the finest blend of orchestra and metal. The pressing is superb, with crystal-clear sound. It's a must-hear for everyone.
