I agree with what others have said. The quality of this pressing and its packaging is superb, which is a nice change from the recent subpar reissue of “Castaways & cutouts” by Newbury as well.
I wholeheartedly agree that this deserves top marks. I can only echo what others have mentioned regarding this special release. The music is crisp and powerful, leaving me with no complaints. There's zero surface noise to be found. The color scheme is truly distinctive. It's such a cool effect when the colors sync up with the vibe of the music. Just a heads up, both discs in my copy are evenly "splattered." The person who shared pics of their personal copy must've gotten a C/D record with hardly any swirls.
This album has a fantastic pressing and packaging. It's incredibly clean, with a quiet background and dynamic sound all the way through. I've noticed that several tracks pack a much bigger punch on vinyl than I recalled from previous listens. Plus, there's a gorgeous 24-page large booklet sewn into the gatefold, filled with lyrics and artwork.
I gotta say, this record is among the best sounding ones I've ever had, out of thousands. The mix is strong and well-balanced, with not a single bit of unwanted noise. It's tough to tell what's a real first pressing and what's not, and from what I've heard, they don't even sound all that great. Stick with this version.
This is a bit of a chaotic disaster, even once it's tidied up. It's not the absolute worst, but it's not good either.
