Terrible quality pressing. The noise and distortion completely mess up this awesome album.
Once more, Fleetwood Mac, led by Peter Green, delivers a strong Blues Rock album. In their sophomore release, they incorporated horns and keyboard, which works fairly well on a few tracks, adding a R&B/Stax vibe. "Love That Burns" might just be my top pick from Fleetwood Mac, and I'd grab this album solely for that track. However, similar to their first record, while there's plenty of good stuff here (again, the best tunes are Green's compositions), there are some drawbacks. Firstly, the production has a bit of a muffled sound, almost like listening to high-quality 78s. Secondly, the song selection. After choosing to cover two Elmore James songs that share the same riff ("Dust My Broom" & "Coming Home"), they shouldn't have included two of their own songs with the same riff - four songs with the same riff, really, what were they thinking! All of them are decent, but they should've just picked one for the album.
The initial Fleetwood Mac records are all about blues origins, not that British blues like John Mayall's stuff. Great job once again by MOV.
This pressing sounds absolutely fantastic, it really grabs your attention. There's such a wide space between the instruments. You just can't top original pressings.
Crooked and unsteady, yet it sounds bloody fantastic. A tad old-fashioned, but for a 60-year-old track, the Peter Green period is absolutely mind-blowing. I shelled out $20 and the dizzying spin is manageable, so it's a winner. It's a stereo record, though it's not mentioned on the LP or sleeve.
