The audio quality on this US version is fantastic. It's vibrant, rich, dynamic, spacious, and clear.
This is a seriously underrated psych treasure and, in my view, Bob Welch's Magnum Opus, crafted while he sensed his time with Fleetwood Mac was winding down. It's a brilliant farewell album that marks the end of the Welch era and sets the stage for Buckingham Nicks just a year later. Apart from two catchy power-pop tracks by McVie, "Heroes Are Hard To Find" and "Come A Little Bit Closer", the band dives headfirst into psychedelia. They explore everything from harmonic psych pop like "She's Changing Me" (definitely a top-tier FM track) and "Prove Your Love" to intricate psychedelic blues rock reminiscent of "Electric Ladyland", as heard in "Coming Home", "Angel", "Bermuda Triangle", "Bad Loser", and "Born Enchanter". The album wraps up with "Safe Harbour", a somber farewell from Welch, mostly instrumental but ending with the poignant lines "Just to find a safe harbour/And to talk with a friend", a bittersweet adieu to FM and a fitting close to the era. This US Kendun pressing sounds solid, much like most Kendun Fleetwood Mac LPs. There's an inherent muddiness to the recording, which gives it a unique charm compared to their other albums.
this vinyl sounds amazing!!! it's so quiet, dynamic, and warm!!!!!!!!!!!!

In a nutshell, this re-release of Fleetwood Macβs Heroes Are Hard To Find on clear vinyl with black and white splatter is an amazing addition to any collection. The mix of superb sound quality, top-notch packaging, and the album's often overlooked brilliance makes this a highly recommended purchase. If youβve been streaming it like I have, or if youβve never owned it on vinyl, this reissue is the perfect way to experience it in a new light. Plus, if youβre lucky enough to grab one at a great price (as I did at Atomic Records in Burbank), itβs even more of a steal. Extremely happy with my purchase. This is a record Iβll be playing for years to come.
