Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.
Despite the name, Live At The East isn't actually recorded at the East. The East, which served as a cultural and educational hub for individuals of African descent, was situated in Brooklyn and operated from the late '60s to the '80s. Pharoah Sanders drew significant inspiration from this center and even dedicated one of his Impulse! albums to it. However, transporting the recording gear from A&R Recording to Brooklyn proved too costly, so they opted for a more budget-friendly approach: bringing the East audience (or family) to the studios for this pretend-live session.
