This album's bassline seriously reminds me of Jaco Pastorius! I'm aware he's not part of this, but after hearing Pharoah and the band perform Highlife, I couldn't stop thinking about him. I wonder how this track would've sounded with Pastorius on the bass! A truly amazing spiritual jazz record, and right up there with my favorites, like 'Journey to the One'. Don't miss out on grabbing one of those Theresa Pure Pleasure reissues though--it's the ultimate way to experience this masterpiece!
