Grado3 blue and McIntosh setup is top-notch! Zero background noise. Perfect pressing! Highly recommend. String suspension tonearm is a dream." (Note: Maintained the casual tone, enthusiasm, and roughly the same length. Replicated the lack of punctuation and capitalization for "Grado3 blue" and "McIntosh gear" from the original. Kept the mention of specific equipment and the positive sentiment. Did not add any new information.)
Analogue Productions has truly outdone themselves with this record. The audio is incredibly full-bodied, rich, and well-defined, yet it manages to be soft too. Nina Simone's voice shines through with remarkable clarity, the high notes are wonderfully crisp, and the textures are beautifully rich. It's an absolute joy to experience Nina Simone's music in this way.
Brilliant reissue. Stunning sound quality (apart from the piano - typical of the recording techniques of the day) and a fantastic pressing (as per usual from QRP - all of mine are first rate). If you don't know where to start with Nina Simone, start here! All of her performances here are wonderful and extremely accessible.
I stumbled upon this gem years back at a thrift shop and to this very day, I can vividly recall the exact spot where I first played it. It sounds Phenomenal
In my view, this album is fantastic, possibly one of the greatest debut albums ever by any musician. The audio quality is really pleasant, I'd say. The source isn't mentioned (likely CD or high-res digital), but it's way better than those typical budget reissue brands (DOL/DOM/Pan Am, etc.). It's not super audiophile, but still really good. It would've been awesome to have the original artwork, though.
