  The vinyl plays smoothly and quietly, even in the gaps between songs. The original recording has a distinct "vibe" from that era, which is quite pleasant, it's almost like my living room has been magically taken back to a jazz lounge in 1961.

  On her initial studio record for Colpix, Simone showcases her impressive vocal and piano skills, backed by Al Schackman's excellent and understated guitar playing. I'm not too fond of the song that gives the album its name, but the rest is quite enjoyable, with "Just to Say I Love Him" standing out as particularly noteworthy.

  This album features some truly lovely tracks. The vinyl itself is a gorgeous purple (clear) color. My copy has decent sound quality, though there's a bit of hiss. The inner sleeve is made of printed cardboard/paper, which unfortunately leads to some static and scratches.
