Product description

Ramones' eleventh studio album, Brain Drain, is a quintessential punk rock masterpiece, released on 23 May 1989. This iconic album marks the last Ramones release to feature the talented bassist, songwriter, and vocalist Dee Dee Ramone, as well as the return of Marky Ramone on drums, following his initial departure from the band after 1983's Subterranean Jungle.

Brain Drain is a high-energy, 35-minute thrill ride, comprising 12 infectious tracks that embody the spirit of punk rock. From the opening notes of 'I Believe in Miracles' to the closing 'Merry Christmas (I Don't Want to Fight Tonight)', the album is a relentless assault on the senses, with Ramones' signature blend of catchy hooks, driving rhythms, and rebellious attitude.

The tracklist is a testament to the band's ability to craft memorable, hard-hitting songs, with standout tracks like 'Zero Zero UFO', 'Pet Sematary', and 'Palisades Park' showcasing their unique ability to balance melody and mayhem. With Brain Drain, Ramones cement their status as one of the most influential and beloved punk rock bands of all time, leaving an indelible mark on the music world.

Originally released on Sire Records, Brain Drain has since been reissued on Rhino/Warner Records, ensuring that this punk rock classic remains accessible to new generations of fans. So, dive into the world of Ramones and experience the unbridled energy and excitement of Brain Drain, a true punk rock masterpiece that continues to inspire and thrill to this day.

  • Sound Quality Shines, Insert Fails

    4 out of 5 stars

The sound quality of this pressing is fantastic, however, the insert is truly awful, it appears as though it was just a low-quality photocopy.

  • Solid Pressing, Sound Issues

    5 out of 5 stars
    XetbahOctober 22, 2024United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Solid pressing... but the sound isn't top-notch. There's some surface hiss. The mastering is good though. Clear across all frequencies, but the lows are a tad muffled and the highs a bit harsh. The artwork is pretty nice!

About Ramones

The Ramones, hailing from Forest Hills, Queens, New York, are legendary figures in the punk rock scene, often hailed as the first true punk rock band. Formed in 1974, this iconic group, featuring the mythical Ramone brothersβ€”Dee Dee, Joey, Tommy, and Johnnyβ€”played a pivotal role in establishing the punk movement both in the United States and globally. Their raw, energetic sound and rebellious attitude left an indelible mark on the music industry, influencing countless bands and shaping the punk genre. Despite never achieving massive commercial success, the Ramones' impact is immeasurable, making them a cornerstone of punk culture. Their debut album, simply titled "Ramones," serves as a musical manifesto, a raging reaction against the soft rock and disco of their time. The Ramones' legacy endures, celebrated for their loud, hard, and relentless approach to music, making them a timeless influence in the world of rock.
