Musically, this is an essential Nina release. Sadly, the original sound quality is all over the place, often muffled, and occasionally it gets too loud and distorted. I reckon Music On Vinyl did the best they could with what they had.
This album's recording is quite bad. There's always a background buzz and the singing is all muffled up.
There are far superior renditions of Simone's work available on other records. The sound quality here is quite lacking, even though it's a re-recorded take.
