I've finally had the chance to use this turntable — it sounds really good! There are occasional ticks even after a thorough cleaning, but they're *super* rare — might just be a bit of dust. Like I mentioned earlier, I'm still annoyed that the cover doesn't fit my 12.75” records, so it's currently swimming in a massive sleeve like a soggy diaper, haha. Anyway, solid 5/5 for this player.
This is an almost "Perfect" pressing. The quality of this press is outstanding. Side A kicks off an amazing sonic journey that continues throughout the entire album. It's a masterpiece that's been treated just right.
Perhaps I got lucky, but my vinyl is perfect - no skips, pops, or hisses to be found. To be truthful, my sole gripe is that they went through the trouble of a tip-on cover, yet didn't bother with inner poly sleeves. I didn't even try the paper ones - tore them off and slipped the record into a better sleeve.
Completely underwhelming drop. Had the potential to be amazing if Zuzu's hadn't skimp on the pressing plant, which left the records full of hiss even after several vacuum cleanings. The mastering is just okay. I'm a massive SP supporter, but I'm getting sick of being nickel-and-dimed by someone I consider a hero.
Fantastic remaster, especially enjoyed the extended outro on Ava Adore. The jacket is incredibly thick, though it only had plain paper inside. It's also quite quiet. My only gripe was the cover; the foil made it much darker for me, losing some of the brightness and vibrancy, so I'd have preferred a regular printed cover.
