  My unit has a sticker on the back that says "MADE IN CZECH REPUBLIC". The sound and pressing quality are both excellent. It's paired with a replica EMT 997/Banana 12" + AT-MONO 3/LP + iFi Zen Phono.

  This was an amazing show. The vinyl pressing is clearly low quality - it comes in a basic paper sleeve and the disc itself has some unsightly scratches. After giving it a thorough clean, it plays back nice and quiet. The performance is incredibly intimate and Simone's delivery is spot on. Highly recommended.

  Apart from the well-known and earlier discussed original recording problems, this album is a fantastic slice of musical art history. Sadly, we can't travel back in time nearly 60 years to fix the sound engineers' mistakes, but we can strive to preserve and present what we have as well as possible. Unfortunately, my copy, bought directly from Deca/Verve records, is warped. After returning the first copy for a replacement, the second one is only marginally better. I suspect poor storage. Still, it's a keeper. For me, Nina shines brightest in front of a live audience, whether here at Newport or the Montreux recordings, they're a must.
