The pressing and mastering are flawless. This music is raw, primal. It's all about lust, loss, and intense feelings. Just let the amazing sound and music take over and enjoy the ride.
The lyrics are solid, but the songwriting is lacking? What’s that supposed to mean? This is yet another amazing album from one of the greatest songwriters out there. It’s all that needs to be said. This is a timeless piece!
Lyrics are top-notch, vocals are pleasant, musicianship is fantastic, production is great, presentation is stylish, and the vinyl pressing (even the heavy one) is excellent... but the songwriting is quite lackluster. Only one or two truly unforgettable tracks in a bunch of half-finished ideas and b-sides. I almost feel bad, but "West" is all style with not much substance.
Clueless about what ‘astral plane’ refers to, but this album is absolutely amazing. From beginning to end, the sound quality, songwriting, and production are all top-notch. It's a complete delight to listen to. Check it out for yourself. 5 Stars
