Gorgeous record, pristine and noise-free, top-notch quality. Pleasantly shocked by the crimson vinyl as well.
The sound quality of this pressing is absolutely stunning! The bass is impressive, and the separation is excellent, with Lucy's voice clearly standing out. The fiddles create a wonderful, deep soundstage. It's just gorgeous. [Tech specs in my profile].

Lucinda Williams" hit the scene in '88. It starts off with the awesome, super-catchy rock tune "I Just Wanted to See You So Bad," with lines like, "I took my car out in the dead of night; I just needed to see you that bad." Rodney Crowell and Emmylou Harris have since done a cover. Track two, "The Night's Too Long," packs a punch with its tale of romantic longing, Lucinda's voice yearning, "Sylvia was slingin' drinks in Beaumont; She said, 'I'm outta here; I'm gonna get what I deserve; I'm sick of these small town guys, they're too slow; I'm gonna find me a man who rocks a leather jacket and lives life on the edge." "Passionate Kisses" is another standout rocker, with the line, "Ain't I worth all this and some hot kisses from you?" The album is a genre-blender, mixing rock, country, blues, and a touch of Cajun. "Crescent City" is just dripping with melody and Louisiana nostalgia, "Tu le ton son temps, that's what we'd say; We'd dance all night, me and my brother, me and my sister, we'd stroll down by the river." Absolute beauty. Dig in!
