  • Great Record Quality

    5 out of 5 stars
    towsigxoynuqe14 November 2025United States🇺🇸

I've got a great copy as well. The sound is crisp and quiet. It's a well-made record.

  • Well-Pressed Record Quality

    5 out of 5 stars
    obeap31 December 2024United States🇺🇸

This record is incredibly well-pressed, which is a huge relief since it has numerous soft passages that would be ruined by any cracks or pops. Fortunately, there's hardly any surface noise, so the quiet parts are genuinely enjoyable.

  • Vinyl Sounds Superior

    5 out of 5 stars
    Vewmissdsiroheg8 December 2024United States🇺🇸

Incredible pressing, just fantastic. Sounds spot on and so much richer than the digital version. Great job. If you're a fan of this recording, you gotta check it out on vinyl. Huge difference, and it's way better.

  • Heart-Wrenching Horns

    5 out of 5 stars
    vooseffnoxu6 October 2024United States🇺🇸

Perhaps his toughest piece to revisit post his passing. It's heart-wrenching yet uplifting. I feel like weeping as the horns wail.

  • Johannsson's Organ Masterpiece

    5 out of 5 stars
    TPWipf7 June 2024United States🇺🇸

Having learned about the creation of this recording, it's clear to see why Johannsson's vision for the music deserves admiration. By employing two organs in Reykjavik's Hallgrimskirkja, one positioned at the rear and the other at the front, he aimed to envelop listeners in a sound that's potent yet not overwhelming. To truly appreciate this music, you need to give it your full attention, sitting quietly and doing nothing else. It's an incredibly fulfilling experience. Deutsche Grammophon has outdone themselves with this release; my copy is utterly pristine and sounds incredible. I only wish I could've attended the 2003 concert, which was reportedly the most unforgettable musical event of the year; I can certainly see why.
