At last, this album has received its much anticipated vinyl relesae, and the quality is fantastic.
The pressing is top-notch, the records are perfectly flat, they play smoothly and without any distortion. The audio quality is superb. The cover along with the insert is top-tier. The album is fantastic and way more engaging to listen to than the usual soundtrack. I highly recommend it. Enjoy...Played on: Technics SL-100C, Ortofon Concorde Music Bronze, Rega Fono MM MK5, Technics SU-G700M2, Yamaha NS-777, Vinyl Cleaner Pro-Ject VC-E
The album showcases a mix of different styles, with remixes that are skillfully done and well-made. There isn't a particularly bad remix, and I especially enjoyed the ones by Crystal Method and Boys Noize. However, the replay value isn't all that impressive. It's fun to listen to what others have done with TRON: Legacy at first, but eventually, you notice it's just recycled electro house music.
The album doesn't state it's a UK exclusive release; it was intended for the EU market and was pressed by UIM B.V. in Holland.
Daft Punk have always managed to keep their music clear of the dreadful trend of excessive dynamic compression that's marred so many albums in the past two decades, but sadly, this compilation is an exception and goes overboard with it. Most tracks on CD clock in at DR8, and even higher on vinyl, around DR12 to DR13. 'Legacy Reconfigured', though, is an eyesore with a DR5, and not a single track goes beyond DR6. Maybe some of the contributing artists had these extreme compression levels in their mixes before handing them over to BGM for mastering the compilation?
