The only downside to the Alive 2007 CD was that, even though it's an incredible album, the bass is way too loud. I'd always have to tweak the bass setting on my stereo just for this album. But thankfully, that's not a problem with the vinyl version. The bass is at a perfect level, and the album sounds absolutely STUNNING! I wholeheartedly recommend it. Alive 2007 finally on vinyl? I haven't been this excited since I first got my driver's license.
Back in 2006, this duo returned with a revamped set that's more polished than ever before. It might just be their finest recorded performance to date. From beginning to end, the arrangement is stunning, with the duo creating and maintaining an amazing atmosphere and energy throughout the live show! What makes this performance so spectacular is the constant evolution and progression of the samples, seamlessly blended together using various EQs. This is particularly evident in "Prime Time Of Your Life / Brainwasher / Rollin' And Scratchin' / Alive", a masterful mix that even a first-time Daft Punk listener wouldn't be able to tell apart from a single track, despite it encompassing multiple albums and house music styles. The finale manages to keep the excitement levels high, even with the performance already at an intense energy level. The bonus track is well worth the investment, especially for dedicated fans. The encore features a mashup of Stardust's "Music Sounds Better With You" with "One More Time" vocals overlaid, and my personal favorite Roulé track, Bangalter & Falcon's "Together", where Daft Punk perform the synths live from the pyramid. The video quality, however, is a tad disappointing, but it's understandable as it was filmed using handheld cameras by audience members. Despite this, the video captures the live energy and will evoke fond memories for anyone who has experienced their live show. The booklet is quite nice, but the main highlight of this package is the extra track.
This record's quality is outstanding. You can hear every subtle detail of their live performance, the atmosphere of the crowd, it's absolutely fantastic. No side seems too brief or weak, each one holds up just as well as the others. Completely silent, not a hint of surface noise. It's a must-have.
[L]ow end That's all you gotta know 'bout this incredible drop.
This one really hits hard. It appears to be mastered quite loudly. The heavyweight vinyl in the Tri-fold case is a nice touch. The recut done at Translab sounds like a remaster to me. It arrived completely out of the blue and wasn't listed on discogs either.
