  • Heavenly Tape Sound Quality

Listening to the new AT33xMONO/I is just heavenly. I'm blown away by how fantastic the tapes still sound. I'm absolutely pampered with the new OJC.

  • Early Miles Davis Gem

    4 out of 5 stars
    Fzuviz11 October 2025United States🇺🇸

Early Miles Davis from his Prestige days. Captured by Rudy Van Gelder on June 7, 1955. Audio quality is decent. Perhaps not Rudy's finest recording, but it's alright. The sound might be a tad more lively and clear. Yet, you can still appreciate the music here.

  • Miles' Trumpet Shines Bright

    5 out of 5 stars
    bevadwrmeavei8 October 2025United States🇺🇸

INCREDIBLE! This is just outstanding! Miles' trumpet really shines and sounds so natural. The bass could use a bit more clarity though. I much prefer these mono recordings over those overly hard-panned ones from that era. Definitely worth checking out!

  • Superior Audio Quality

    5 out of 5 stars
    njl_729 August 2025United States🇺🇸

The audio quality is way better than what you'll find in the SMJ catalog reissues. If you're a fan of this album, you're in for a treat. There's no distortion to be found, and the bass is deep and clear, it'll fill up your whole room. Don't pay attention to those low ratings. They're likely from folks who've got hearing issues or haven't listened to records that sound this good before.

  • Decent Pressing, Wide Soundstage

    5 out of 5 stars
    PGVkuuwuqak29 April 2025United States🇺🇸

Decent pressing in general, most tracks have a wide soundstage except for track 2 which has some noise as it's a slow tune by Miles himself

About Miles Davis

Miles Davis, a true pioneer of jazz, is renowned for his innovative approach and genre-defying discography. With a career spanning over five decades, Davis explored and mastered a wide range of styles, including cool jazz, hard bop, bebop, jazz fusion, jazz blues, and even free jazz. His music is a testament to his restless creativity and relentless pursuit of new sounds. Davis's work is not just a collection of notes but a journey through the evolution of jazz itself. From the cool, introspective tones of "Birth of the Cool" to the groundbreaking fusion of "Bitches Brew," Davis's albums are a chronicle of his artistic evolution. His trumpet playing, characterized by its distinctive phrasing and use of space, remains influential to this day. Davis's legacy is not just in the music he created but in the way he continually redefined what jazz could be.
