Product Description

Coheed and Cambria's "The Afterman: Descension" is a thrilling continuation of their sci-fi concept album saga, released on January 1, 2012, under V2 Cooperative Music. Clocking in at 58 minutes, this album is a dynamic blend of progressive rock and post-hardcore, featuring 12 tracks that seamlessly weave together intricate storytelling and powerful musical arrangements.

From the haunting opening notes of "Pretelethal" to the introspective closer "Random Reality Shift," Coheed and Cambria deliver a captivating journey through sound and narrative. Tracks like "Key Entity Extraction V: Sentry the Defiant" and "Iron Fist" showcase the band's knack for crafting anthemic, guitar-driven rock, while "Away We Go" and "Carol Ann" highlight their melodic and emotive side. • Stunning Album, Minor Playback Issue

    5 out of 5 stars

This album is absolutely stunning! Every piece of artwork, including the inner sleeve, is gorgeous. The LP disc feels quite light. My record player has an automatic stop feature that seems to cut off side 1 too early during the last track (Gravity's Union), which is a letdown. I think it's because the grooves get so close to the center of the record. I haven't had any issues with this feature on any of my other records, though. As for the music, how could you possibly go wrong? I'm in love with every song on this album, with maybe the least favorite being Dark Side of Me. Side 1 is probably my favorite side of any Coheed LP. This album is truly amazing. And this LP is a fantastic display piece. I'm not sure if I can recommend it for listening as much as a standard 180 gram vinyl, though. But I'm not disappointed, though.

However, I'm not sure I can wholeheartedly recommend it for listening purposes as much as a standard 180 gram vinyl. But hey, I'm not disappointed overall.
