Does anyone know if it's true that the Japanese CD, which includes a bonus track, also has a hidden track called ZOoMIxMAx - frod5 (hidden track Syro)?
Aphex Twin strikes again! This album is amazing
After giving it a fair amount of time and a few listens, I've concluded that this album is merely "okay", nothing special. I'm not sure I'll give it another spin. When you compare it to something like "Richard D. James Album", you notice it's missing some spark and originality. "Computer Controlled..." and "Orphaned DJ..." are even worse, though.
The audio quality of this double vinyl is absolutely terrible, there's no definition in the 'bass' range, and the stereo imaging and 'treble' that give analog sound its appeal are just as bad. Really poor pressing from Warp!!
Absolutely one of his finest works! The level of intricacy is almost mind-blowing, and you've got to give it more than a couple of listens to truly grasp it. It's a slow burn, but it blooms ENORMOUSLY! Be patient with it. It stands out from his other releases, perhaps closest to a blend of Tuss and Analord. In short: If Rushup Edge is your jam, you'll likely adore this even more! Huge thanks to Richard for this incredible masterpiece of ART!
