incredibly outstanding. top-notch repress. no noise, super sharp sound. every electronic music lover needs this
This album is absolutely fantastic. The two extra songs are a must-listen, particularly "Rhubarb Orc. 19.53 Rev" which wraps up this incredible album perfectly. The packaging is decent, though I'd love something between this and the fancy wood box set. Maybe a gatefold or a simpler cardboard box. But honestly, that's just a tiny complaint when you consider the main reason to get this - the music.
The box arrived in decent shape, just a bit scuffed on the corners, but that's no big deal to me. I'm really digging the poster that's included, it's a great guide for playing the record. And those stickers? Top-notch. Now, the big outer plastic sleeve, it feels like it's made of PVC, which could potentially cause off-gassing and damage over time, though it might be something else. I was a bit doubtful about this "Biovinyl" at first, but let me tell you, this is one of the quietest records in my collection. It's just flat-out quiet, and wow, the dynamics are incredible. The music can be barely there, a whisper, and then suddenly, boom, it hits you with this deep rumble. The lows go insanely low. Whoever mastered this must've worked some serious magic with the frequencies because I couldn't believe how deep it sounded while still keeping all the detail of the original recording. I can't emphasize this enough, this should've been an impossible pressing to nail, but it pulls it off effortlessly. This is how you do a reissue, respecting the medium and using its quirks to your advantage.
what's the best way to keep these two tapes side by side after opening and taking them out of the plastic packaging? :O
My CD jumps on track number 19, which happens to be my all-time favorite song. Driving alone at night, enjoying the serenity, and then suddenly it starts skipping all over the place, with my car's CD player making strange noises from the disk drive, was absolutely shocking and really upset me.
