This album is a fascinating blend of Vangelis' recent, orchestral-heavy style and his earlier electronic roots. You'll find plenty of references to his past work, which true Vangelis enthusiasts will recognize immediately. From the first listen, I felt right at home—it's unmistakably Vangelis. There are moments that leave you in awe, dramatic passages, grand production, and of course, stunning pieces that leave you in stunned silence. Just a heads-up, my vinyl copy had a ton of static right out of the package. It definitely needs a good cleaning with a VPI or a blast from an anti-static gun before you play it. So, don't panic if your copy sounds like it's popping popcorn.

This is an excellent recording, likely my top pick from his newer works. It's got some nostalgic bits that harken back to his 70s sequencer tunes and others that echo Tangerine Dream's Sonic Poems. The percussion is mighty, and the symphonic parts are dynamic with some truly standout compositional bits. My copy wasn't flawless, though. There were quite a few low-level ticks that only popped up at higher volumes. Plus, there were a few pops on both sides 1 and 2, but they calmed down after about five spins. I'd already given it a wet cleaning and ran it through the ultrasonic, so they're not terrible, just there.
