I'm happy I purchased this box set. The packaging, book, poster, holographic card, and CD are all really good. The only issue is some surface noise on the vinyl records. In quieter sections it’s bothersome, and in some louder parts there is distortion.
This is an amazing piece of music that captures all the best elements from the previous albums. You'll find the shimmering tones of Rosetta, the brave spirit of Alexander, the operatic grandeur of Mythodea, the nostalgic tunes of Spiral, the shadowy atmosphere of Blade Runner, and the cosmic vastness of Albedo. The vinyl pressing is quite good, though not flawless. There are a few pops and specks of dirt, but nothing too major. Sides A and C have some last-minute distortion in the left channel. The artwork and packaging are fantastic. It's a nice touch having the insert sheet with the Jupiter photos.
After reaching out to Universal Music in the UK regarding the signature, here's what they got back to me with: "Dear Spyros, Thank you for getting in touch. We've had a few customers point this out, and we've looked into it with the record label, Decca, who've assured us that these are indeed hand-signed. If you have any more queries, please feel free to get in touch. Best wishes, Customer Services" Even though I've got the boxset, I haven't opened it yet as I'm currently traveling, so I can't say for sure, but I'd be over the moon if it turns out to be hand-signed by the Maestro himself! Hope this info helps someone out!
My version has a couple of crackles right when side 4 begins. Other than that, it's flawless. A stunning and apt swan song from an incredible musician.
