Honestly, this music is just plain sad. And I say that with the utmost respect. The opening track, 'Flight from the city,' is absolutely stunning. It's a world painted in shades of gray, modern and cold, with steel, rain, fog, and sheer beauty.
My copy has a fair amount of crackles and pops, but the music's sound is absolutely stunning.
Deutsche Grammophon has outdone themselfs with this stunning record. Zero flaws to be found. It's right up their with Mahler and the likes.
The record I have sounds fantastic, with no issues regarding pressing flaws. A lot of the clicks and pops are due to static, and giving it a good clean with a damp cloth often fixes most of them (though not every time).
Can anyone share their thoughts on the audio quality of this vinyl release? I'm considering buying it, but I'm a bit worried about the pressing...
