Yet another fantastic addition to the Tone Poet series. This record has it all. The tracklist, the music, the performance, the recording, the mastering, the pressing, and the packaging are all top-notch. Don't miss out on this one, it'll sell out faster than you can say 'vinyl'.
This album sounds absolutely amazing! I'm in agreement with the other feedback: Side A is out of this world. And wow, just look at the lineup: Elvin Jones, McCoy Tyner, Lee Morgan...this recording was packed with talent. Update: I rated this album four stars because side B isn't quite as exciting. I would've loved to hear something original instead of the Beatles cover. That's just my personal taste, though.
Fantastic album with a superb pressing. The stereo imaging is spot on. It's incredibly wide and deep. The dynamics and details are just outstanding. A truly enjoyable listening experience. This might just be my top Stanley Turrentine session ever. Kudos to BN and KG for a job well done!
I'm utterly baffled as to why these sessions took until 1980 to see the light of day! They're absolutely fantastic. The musicianship is top-notch, the sound quality is superb, and the overall experience is simply superb. Side A by itself is worth every penny spent 😎
