The white rim edition's gotta be the hardest one to come across, so if you spot one, snatch it up quick!
Oh, the Blood Spatter Vinyl! Let me count the ways. These re-releases are quite amusing. Dropped in 2008, but remastered way back in 1993 (for CD? Beats me.). The audio is clear and bright, as good as this not-so-well-recorded album can get. The vinyl is thick (and splattered with blood) and the quality & printing of the outer and inner sleeve are top-notch. The design of the back cover and inner sleeve seem hastily put together, careless and a bit rough. I suppose Metal Blade was so focused on the blood splattering of the vinyl that they overlooked the rest. Still, I'm a fan of these blood-spattered early Slayer re-releases and appreciate the chance to grab these records at fair prices. Worth picking up.
Nearly a decade later and you can still come across them in their original packaging, as if they just hit the shelves. They probably made a bit too many of these during the production run.
Just a heads up, the live take of "show no mercy" on this album is way extended compared to other versions, featuring a huge drum solo right at the beginning that goes straight into the track
I bought this when it first released. What an awesome picture disc! And the audio quality wasn't too shabby for a picture disc either. Heavy Metal back in the early days of Speed Metal.
