  • Slayer Vinyl: Audio Excellence

    5 out of 5 stars
    KnWed5 May 2025United Kingdom🇬🇧

The audio quality is fantastic, it's just as good as the CD release from '98. This vinyl edition includes 2 extra songs not mentioned on the cover, they're pretty awesome, a real treat if you've never listened to them before, like myself, cheers! Rest in peace Slayer!! \m/

  • Slayer's Scorching Sellout

    4 out of 5 stars
    WisilzEmPezex22 January 2025United States🇺🇸

Frequently seen by fans as Slayer's "sellout" record. The song 'Bitter Peace" is scorching way past the detuned guitars. Bostaph's hammering drums are a standout. Attempt to find another Slayer song that compares. 4/5

  • Unnecessary Double Disc

    3 out of 5 stars
    Ezyhu_Teef25 November 2024United States🇺🇸

Was splitting this into 2 discs really necessary when the whole album's just 40 minutes long?

  • Distortion Mars Great Album

    4 out of 5 stars
    umbol22 November 2024United States🇺🇸

The record starts off sounding fantastic. But there's a ton of inner groove distortion on the final track of each side, and since this is a double album, that's about 10 munites per side. It feels like they just spread it out evenly and didn't bother keeping the music more towards the outer grooves. Inner groove distortion is honestly the worst part about LPs for me.

  • Slayer's Underrated Late 90s Gem

    4 out of 5 stars
    tmrkozn8714 August 2024United States🇺🇸

Since my move from Arizona to Colorado last year, I've been making regular quarterly visits back to see my parents... and in the process, transporting my old high school and early college CD collection, pre-dating my vinyl days, to my new place. This fantastic album was my first encounter with Slayer when I was 15. Setting nostalgia aside, I'm puzzled as to why this album doesn't get the recognition it merits. Now, 13 years older, I do "get" that it's not on par with South Of Heaven or Reign In Blood, and that when compared to the rest of Slayer's discography, it doesn't quite measure up. But that wasn't its intention. In one sentence, this album represents Slayer's reaction to the state of the Metal genre in the late 90s. Metal was slowing down, becoming less heavy, and, frankly, gaining mainstream popularity. This album, while incorporating a few musical elements from the popular late 90s metal scene, remains a full-on Slayer assault. It was exactly what the genre needed at the time. It had just enough nu-metal hooks to attract newcomers, but also plenty of attitude to remind everyone what metal should be about. If you own this, give it another spin and listen objectively. If you don't own it, spend the 99 cents plus shipping on Amazon and give it a chance... you might just enjoy it!
