Hands down, this is the greatest live album I've ever listened to! The sound is absolutely massive. The mixing is top-notch, every instrument and vocal is crystal clear and enormous. Nick has never sounded this good on any recording!
As a LIVE album, it sounds really good. The grooves are super quiet and the sound is dynamic and rich. The vocals and instruments are well balanced. All in all, I'm pleased with it.
Despite reading the reviews here, I decided to purchase a copy. I anticipated being let down, but honestly, I find it sounds really nice. I own a high-quality system that's quite revealing, so I'm quite particular about vinyl releases. I'm confused as to why others had issues with it. It's a tad overpriced for what it is, but the sound quality is excellent.
I purchased both the CD and the vinyl record. The sound quality of the LP is underwhelming, considering its high price. Many tracks on the LP, particularly "Frogs" and "Wild God," sound dull and squashed in comparison to the CD. They ought to have released a 3 or 4 LP set instead of cutting it down, which results in lost content and inferior sound quality compared to the CD.
I value the work put into this album, but the CD having three extra songs compared to the LP is truly disheartening. It seems unjust to vinyl enthusiasts, particularly when the vinyl itself costs forty euros or more. At that price point, consumers rightfully anticipate a full and uniform tracklist across all formats. Providing bonus tracks exclusively on the CD makes the LP feel cut short and leaves dedicated fans discontent. Choices like this create the impression that monetary gain was prioritized over fairness, leaving some of us fans genuinely disappointed by Nick Cave. I sincerely hope future releases steer clear of these inconsistencies and honor all fans equally.
