  • Clear Sound, Minimal Static

    5 out of 5 stars
    NMlixymenay15 October 2025United States🇺🇸

My record spins real clear. No distortion here. There's a touch of static, it's worse on side A than B, but it's hardly noticable. I didn't even clean it before playin', so that should make a difference. Pretty happy with it overall.

  • Live Music Quality

    5 out of 5 stars

Hi there Discogs! 🙋 Could you allow me to add an extra star for this record? Incredible sound quality!!! Massive soundstage, with super realistic tonality, positioning and size of each instrument… it's like live music!!

  • Brubeck's Japan Journey

    4 out of 5 stars
    fofeDV_5 August 2025United States🇺🇸

My Brubeck vinyl collection is expanding, and this album stands out near the pinnacle. It's a captivating reflection on a tour in Japan, blending visual and aural snapshots of a vibrant and enchanting nation. While Desmond and Brubeck usually take the spotlight, here the bass and drums shine too, backing the quartet beautifully. Standout tracks include the energetic and atmospheric "Tokyo Traffic", the daring "Toki's Theme", and the stunning ballad/swing combo, "The City is Crying". The sound quality is crisp, with minor clipping on the most intense sax notes, but it's not bothersome. The mix is excellent, and this pressing delivers a three-dimensional, dynamic sound. Four stars. Highly recommended.

  • Netherlands or USA Pressing?

    5 out of 5 stars
    tevucyegfp17 July 2025United States🇺🇸

Code XSM-77490-1L is printed on side A, with 0, P, C, and 3 marked… also, the 1L is at the end on side B. The code indicates a Netherlands pressing, but everything else on the label or pointing to USA and Pitman press.

  • Brubeck's Japan Jazz Journey

    4 out of 5 stars
    QXEFUAHDIG3 June 2025United States🇺🇸

Jazz Impressions of Japan is a mesmerizing album that demonstrates The Dave Brubeck Quartet's talent for merging jazz with cultural inspirations. After their 1964 Japan tour, the quartet created this musical journey, with every song echoing Brubeck's memories and feelings from the adventure.
