This pressing is massive! They pack in tons of tunes on a single disc and there's zero inner noise- it's a total winner
This got pressed in the year 2000 and wasn't made in large amounts. Each of these versions has a sticker on them showing what pressing number it is.
Quite in line with the original pressings I've encountered before, which have always seemed a tad soft and squashed. A truly epic recording, even if it's not exactly an audiophile experience. My copy had a significant warp that I fixed with my Vinyl Flat.
This is a noise-free, flat pressing that truly captures the original LP, spread across two genuine 180g records. The sound is incredibly clean and detailed, though not overly bright, allowing you to hear nuances that streams miss. Vocals are clear and centered, and while the cut is quieter, turning it up reveals its full dynamic range and deep bass (if your system can handle it). The sleeve and inner prints are top-notch, though not poly-lined. Terminator X absolutely shines here—genius work! Highly, highly recommended.
Black Steel ..." is arguably one of the most overlooked masterpieces in Hip-Hop's storytelling genre. Terminator X's sampling skills on this album are off the charts, especially with that Beastie Boys snippet on "Party For Your Right To Fight". That Pac-Man sound effect is timeless, scattered throughout the LP just like the politically charged, yet realistic lyrics. And get this, it was released way before the Patriot Act! I wouldn't have minded if they skipped the live bits, as I'm not usually a fan of live albums, but that's a minor complaint when you've got a track like "...Channel Zero" to bang your head to! -DJ C.V.R.9th/Aug.2K25
