This is a fantastic Europian / Holland pressing with superb sound quality. The audio is warm and analog, making it a joy to listen to the music.
This record has a stunningly faithful & holographic sound, with awesome bass. The stereo-mix is fantastic as well. It just seems to hover out of the speakers...
I'm not sure if I've already shared my thoughts on this, but I'll go ahead and give it another shout. I nearly spent $2K on the 1-Step, but I'm really happy I didn't. The 1S might be a tad bit better, like 10% or so, which is nice, but not worth the current asking price. This version is perfect for me.
I own a much-loved and well-played copy of this fantastic LP (even though I personally favor "Santana III") that I bought in Very Good+ condition with a cover ranging from poor to good (REMEMBER THIS!). Unlike my other reviews, I got to compare my copy with the newer MOFI edition (https://www.discogs.com/release/32738337-Santana-Abraxas). My friend, who owns the MOFI, has a supposedly MUCH SUPERIOR SYSTEM than mine, and even HE had to concede that my copy SOUNDS BETTER than his brand new 2024 MOFI version - draw your own conclusions. Now, my copy is this original version and it's NOT noise-free BUT more than acceptable for its age and the many plays it's likely had over its 50+ years. It outperforms the MOFI in every aspect, especially since the MOFI has excessive low-end bass which is harmful and disrupts the LP's flow (PRaT). I'd say that on most turntable setups, these differences would be clearly noticeable. Yes, there are distortions present in the tapes used for these records, but why on earth would anyone want to pay £100 for that? This edition comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED from me - Five Stars, thanks for reading. Incredible pressing! The soundstage is so wide, with fantastic highs and lows. This album is a true percussion showcase, with each instrument leaping out at you. I can't picture it sounding any more perfect than this.
