This is a fantastic-sounding record, on par with audiophile quality releases. It's also a timeless pop album.
Purchased this brand spankin' new and sealed straight from Amazon. My copy's pretty warped and not all that centered. It's not the greatest pressing or mix out there… It does sound a tad better than the digital stream, but don't go expecting a total transformation. My copy's got a pressing flaw (like a tiny nut) on B2, but thankfully it doesn't mess with the sound. The dynamics are a bit squished and the overall sound's somewhat muffled. Good air and space in the midrange, especially for the piano and vocals. Okay separation. Super quiet, but there's a bit of surface noise and some pops on B3, though it's not too bothersome. 4.45 / 5
Hit the shelves back in '80. But they yanked it off so fast, most folks never even seen it. A couple mono pressings somehow slipped through, though.
Absolutely gorgeous pressing. The sound is crisp, with a wide soundstage, fantastic separation, and a bass that's punchy but not overpowering. Go ahead and buy with your eyes closed.
