  • Best Pressing, Minor Static

    5 out of 5 stars
    yuxrfai2903November 27, 2025United States🇺🇸

This pressing sounds absolutely fantastic and blows away anything else out there, particularly when it comes to dynamics and vocal clarity. It's worth mentioning that this version is a significant improvement over the '76/'77 reissues with "EG" in the runout (which, by the way, still outperform the newer reissues but can feel a tad flat and less engaging—another reviewer I found agreed with this). If you're looking for the best, aim for anything with 3U (or 4U for the '78), just make sure it's not an EG press. My only gripe is that this disc has a tendency to pick up audible static.

  • Sealed but Mislabelled

    5 out of 5 stars
    XispultTfanvNovember 22, 2025United States🇺🇸

Got this brand new / still sealed, but it's missing the Czeck Rep sticker on the back, and the text there says Nick Drake Five Leaves Left instead of Bryter Layter. Apart from that, the packaging is identical.

  • Stylus Quality Concerns

    2 out of 5 stars
    zozlrvaeNovember 9, 2025United States🇺🇸

Gritty - got me wondering if the stylus is all dirty - perhaps just a faulty one?

  • Final Vinyl's Dynamic Sound

    5 out of 5 stars
    digik1544October 29, 2025United States🇺🇸

this is the final AAA issue ever. As the master tape is beyond use, all later and recent re-releases are sourced from digital. This vinyl sounds incredibly lively and dynamic! https://www.analogplanet.com/content/whos-cutting-those-lacquers-part-1-0

  • Needle Lacks Air

    2 out of 5 stars
    corvysooOctober 24, 2025United States🇺🇸

Lifeless - Absolutely no air up top whatsoever. It's like there's a cotton ball stuck on the needle - You get the idea - Boring.

About Nick Drake

Nick Drake, an English musician and accomplished acoustic guitarist, left an indelible mark on the folk and singer-songwriter genres despite his brief career. Born into a creative family in 1948, Drake signed to Island Records at the tender age of 20 while still a student at the University of Cambridge. His debut album, "Five Leaves Left," was released in 1969, followed by "Bryter Layter" in 1971 and the hauntingly beautiful "Pink Moon" in 1972. Although his albums did not achieve commercial success during his lifetime, Drake's introspective lyrics and delicate guitar work have since garnered critical acclaim and a devoted following.

Drake's life was marked by both talent and tragedy. He grappled with mental illness, and sadly, took his own life at the age of 26 in 1974. His music, characterized by its understated elegance and emotional depth, continues to resonate with audiences today. Drake's legacy is managed by Bryter Music, which oversees all matters related to his recordings, music publishing, and various media projects. His story is one of quiet brilliance and enduring influence, making Nick Drake a figure of enduring fascination in the music world.
