How do we keep reviews authentic?

Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.

  • Decent Press, Not Bad

    5 out of 5 stars
    BmeHumukClsencJanuary 11, 2026United States🇺🇸

I wasn't sure what to anticipate based on these reviews, but my version actually sounds pretty decent. There's a bit of background noise here and there. I genuinely don't believe this press is as poor as others make it out to be.

  • Stunning Cover, Great Sound

    4 out of 5 stars
    BaxazvRiwkJanuary 1, 2026United States🇺🇸

Sadly, I had to swap this vinyl three times because of scratches, but the original cover is absolutely stunning! Not wanting to spend twice as much on a first pressing, I settled for this one. I'm really loving the amazing, amazing balance between guitar, piano, vocals, and strings!

  • Nick Drake's Masterpiece

    5 out of 5 stars
    Lveweruor34December 7, 2025United States🇺🇸

Nick Drake's incredible album, not a single weak track!!! Just incredible, raw and top-notch songwriting!!! A definite MUST OWN for any collection!!

  • Loud and Unpleasant Pressing

    1 out of 5 stars
    QoizidiyjqNovember 28, 2025United States🇺🇸

As others have mentioned, this is an extremely loud pressing, which is unfortunate. It's so bad that it's not pleasant to listen to, so I wouldn't suggest it.

  • Superior Pressing, Static Issues

    5 out of 5 stars
    jezwtee9837November 27, 2025United States🇺🇸

This pressing sounds absolutely fantastic and blows away anything else out there, particularly when it comes to dynamics and vocal clarity. Just so you know, this one is definitely superior to the '76/'77 reissues with "EG" in the runout (which, by the way, still outperform the newer reissues but can feel a tad flat and less engaging—another reviewer mentioned this too). Aim for anything with 3U (or 4U for the '78), just make sure it's not an EG press. The only downside here is that this disc is really susceptible to noticeable static buildup.

About Nick Drake

Nick Drake, an English musician and accomplished acoustic guitarist, left an indelible mark on the folk and singer-songwriter genres despite his brief career. Born into a creative family in 1948, Drake signed to Island Records at the tender age of 20 while still a student at the University of Cambridge. His debut album, "Five Leaves Left," was released in 1969, followed by "Bryter Layter" in 1971 and the hauntingly beautiful "Pink Moon" in 1972. Although his albums did not achieve commercial success during his lifetime, Drake's introspective lyrics and delicate guitar work have since garnered critical acclaim and a devoted following.

Drake's life was marked by both talent and tragedy. He grappled with mental illness, and sadly, took his own life at the age of 26 in 1974. His music, characterized by its understated elegance and emotional depth, continues to resonate with audiences today. Drake's legacy is managed by Bryter Music, which oversees all matters related to his recordings, music publishing, and various media projects. His story is one of quiet brilliance and enduring influence, making Nick Drake a figure of enduring fascination in the music world.
