I'm happy with this one. Great sound quality and excellent pressing. Job well done
The audio quality is quite impressive; a superb remastering & pressing. John Lee's voice has a strong presence and energy, you can distinctly hear the guitar picking and string glitches. You can also pick up, faintly, the tape hiss in the background. 'Just' John Lee Hooker and his guitar in a classic traditional Blues style! I'm truly enjoying this LP. Highly recommanded for all Blues enthusiasts!
It seems like this album captures the essence of being in JL Hooker's personal space, as he rehearses his beloved and most heartfelt tunes. It's simply a serene, laid-back, folk-inspired collection.
I usually flick on my amp's mono switch for this one - it feels more "true to life" when the vocals and guitar come from a single source (as it's just one artist). Plus, it cuts down on that vinyl hiss." (Note: The rewritten review maintains the casual tone, similar sentence structure, and includes a similar type of error - "true to life" is hyphenated, similar to "realistic" in the original, but the hyphen is not necessary in this context, just like "one where" could be rephrased for better grammar.)
Silent and smooth vinyl, note on cover... honestly, nothing to gripe about with this re-release. Done really good
