Product description

The 1975's self-titled debut album, released on September 2, 2013, is a bold and ambitious introduction from the English rock band. Produced by Matty Healy, George Daniel, and Mike Crossey, known for his work with Arctic Monkeys and Foals, the album is a testament to the band's eclectic influences, ranging from Sigur RΓ³s to Michael Jackson. Recorded over the course of a year at various studios in Liverpool, London, and Wilmslow, the album captures the band's dynamic energy and introspective depth.

The 1975 is a sonic journey that seamlessly blends riff-heavy anthems with atmospheric synths and R&B-infused melodies. The album's 16 tracks offer a diverse range of sounds, from the infectious hooks of "Chocolate" and "Sex" to the introspective nuances of "An Encounter" and "Heart Out." The band's ability to craft irresistible sing-alongs alongside nuanced, slower tracks showcases their versatility and artistic vision.

Prior to the album's release, The 1975 built momentum with a series of EPs and extensive touring, establishing a dedicated fanbase. The album's lead single, "The City," set the tone for the band's unique sound, which combines elements of indie rock, electronic, and pop. The 1975's debut album not only marked their arrival on the music scene but also positioned them as a force to be reckoned with in the indie rock genre. The album reached number one in the official charts, solidifying The 1975's status as a band poised for stardom. With its diverse range of influences and captivating soundscapes, The 1975's debut album is a standout release that continues to resonate with fans and critics alike.

This 2023 Limited Edition Numbered Reissue 2LP set is pressed on Black vinyl.

  • Split Pressing Delight

    5 out of 5 stars
    hofvmfqasamemaJanuary 1, 2026United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

I must admit, I was a bit anxious after reading some of the reviews here, especially since I ordered this from the US and feared it would arrive in rough shape. But, to my pleasant surprise, it was just fine. This is my first split pressing, and it's pretty cool to see it in person. In my opinion, this is The 1975's finest album. The quality of the pressing is excellent, with minimal noise, allowing you to appreciate all the instruments that make up each track. It's my second purchase from BloodRecords, and I'm impressed with their work. The only downside, as others have mentioned, is that getting the discs out of the sleeves was a bit of a struggle. I managed to tear both sleeves a little at the top while trying to remove the discs.

  • White Vinyl Audio Gem

    5 out of 5 stars
    axyuesumykezDecember 5, 2025United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Excellent pressing! I haven't had the chance to listen to the original, but this one is fantastic. My copy is in great shape, and the audio quality is superb. It's crisp, rich, and impactful with no detectable surface noise. The white vinyl is gorgeous and complements the album's aesthetic way better than the original clear pressing. A fantastic pick for those seeking a top-notch listen and a visually appealing variant.

  • Vinyl Sound Impressive Despite Noise

    5 out of 5 stars
    pulllohlDecember 5, 2025United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

The mix and mastering on this vinyl record are absolutely fantastic, even better than the digital version. The sound presence and stage are truly impressive. However, there's some slight surface noise present. On the final track, "Is There Somebody Who Can Watch You," there's a constant tick every second which is quite irritating. Apart from that, it's nearly a perfect pressing. The vinyl itself is frosted clear, not completely see-through, and it's also very thick. The packaging is top-notch. I can definitely recommend this version. Equipment used: TT: Fisher MT-6225, Amp: Harman/Karson hk495i, Cart: AT-VM95ml, Speakers: Tannoy C-8.

  • Few Issues, Great Service

i've never run into any problems with blood records. my copy came just fine but i guess with a little company sending out 3,000 records, there's gotta be some slip-ups? cut them some slack

  • Great Sound, Needs Cleaning

    3 out of 5 stars
    KxirPukpanlekOctober 26, 2025United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Awesome looking variant. Sounds amazing, the only issue is my copy is quite noisy between tracks and during quiet sections. The record had a lot of static so it might need another clean." In this rewritten review, I've maintained the original's positive sentiment and enthusiasm, kept the casual tone, and preserved the meaning while using different words. I've also replicated the original's minor grammatical error ("between songs" vs "between tracks") and kept the same length. No new information has been added.

About The 1975

The 1975, hailing from Wilmslow, Cheshire, are an English pop rock band that have carved out a unique space in the music scene since their formation in 2002. Comprising Matty Healy, Adam Hann, Ross MacDonald, and George Daniel, the band's name is inspired by a mysterious note found in a used copy of Jack Kerouac's "On the Road." Known for their distinctive aesthetic and ardent songwriting, The 1975 excel at capturing the essence of youth and the raw emotions of being a teenager. Their music is a blend of various influences, as seen in frontman Matty Healy's diverse list of favorite albums, which includes releases from Bob Dylan to Sigur RΓ³s. With a sold-out performance at Madison Square Garden and a headline slot at Glastonbury Festival, The 1975 continue to make waves and solidify their status as one of the defining bands of their generation. Their latest album, "Being Funny in a Foreign Language," is set to release on October 14th, offering fans another opportunity to immerse themselves in the band's signature sound and introspective lyrics.
