This album delivers amazing audio! The vinyl is a crisp, deep black
This album is awesome, I couldn't find any faults with it. The gatefold feels really well-made and I loved the see-through 'Black Ice' design. As for the music, it's brilliant. A lot of folks claim Eminem's been slipping with age but I beg to differ. I reckon he's just gotten better at his craft.
Picked up this vinyl yesterday from Urban Outfitters in Amsterdam. Superb pressing!!! Perhaps the finest sounding pressing of recent Hip Hop drops. The bass is absolutely killer. Dead silent pressing. No clicks or pops at all. Highly recommend grabbing this one!
This album is fantastic, especially since it's on colored vinyl! I'm no audiophile, so I couldn't really pick up on any drop in sound quality. It's a solid album overall. The A-Side, which is what they call LP1 and LP2, is incredibly strong, featuring some of Eminem's best recent tracks. The storytelling on 'Darkness' is amazing, and it's mixed with fun songs like 'Those Kinda Nights' and 'Godzilla', making the whole thing a great listen. However, the B-Side, or LP3 and LP4, is quite weak in comparison. There are a few standout tracks like 'Alfred's Theme' and 'Discombobulated', but overall, it's not as good. Still, the record itself sounds great, with minimal surface noise, and it's impressive for a colored vinyl.
It was well worth the anticipation. The youngster came through! Sharp wordplay is on full display. Incredible speed. The skill showcase is out of this world. I've been a supporter since '97. I'll admit I took a break but jumped back on the bandwagon with Kamikazee. With cool packaging that honors Alfred Hitchcock, much like Kamikazee showed the Beastie Boys respect last time. These are both strategies that I appreciate and would personally employ. Elbows are aimed at competitors and colleagues. Social commentary hits a bit too close to home when discussing the LAs Vegas shooting in what is likely his most impactful song, reminiscent of Stan in terms of original plot and effect. He didn't invent America's fixation with death, murder, and mass murder, mo murder murder and kill kill kill. You can't fault Em for giving the people what they crave. Some will, though. Meanwhile, we kicked off the year with this batch of awesome tracks from Dre and Eminem, only to wait months for the vinyl to release... and then see it delayed due to Covid-19. As I sit here now, a mere 4 1/2 months later, holding the physical copy in my hand, it brings back memories of a much different time than RIGHT NOW. Just from playing the digital copies when you could GO PLACES. (Recall that?) But I'm thrilled to have this on vinyl to help me through the quiet moments. The eerily too quiet times post Covid-19. Thanks for the noise, Em! 5 stars. Challenge me.
