Product description

"Muse Sick-N-Hour Mess Age" is a powerful and politically charged album by Public Enemy, released on August 23, 1994, under Def Jam Recordings. This East Coast hip hop masterpiece clocks in at just over an hour, packed with 18 tracks that delve into themes of social injustice, power, and the harsh realities of life. From the provocative title track to the introspective "I Ain't Mad At All," Public Enemy delivers their signature hard-hitting lyrics and hard-core hip hop beats. Standout tracks like "Bedlam 13:13" and "Hitler Day" showcase the group's unapologetic approach to addressing controversial topics. With its raw energy and thought-provoking content, this album is a testament to Public Enemy's enduring influence in the hip hop genre.

This 2LP set was released in 1994.

  • Incomplete but Fantastic PE Instrumentals

    4 out of 5 stars
    Wva_Exvyivl_EdgolkDecember 5, 2025United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

The "Give It Up" instrumental here is from the Dirty Drums in Memphis Mixx, not the LP cut. To get that particular instrumental version, you'd need to grab the single. On the other hand, "What Kind of Power We Got?" is the LP instrumental, just like "I Stand Accused". The only bummer about this instrumental album is that it's missing "White Heaven/Black Hell" and "Death of a Carjacka", making it feel incomplete. I get that the former is just a skit, but it's got a killer loop of a Temprees sample, and the latter wasn't on the clean version, which probably explains why the instrumental's not here. Other than that, this is a fantastic instrumental LP to have; the Bomb Squad and Easy Mo Bee really brought their A-game to this underrated piece of PE's discography.

  • Clean Edition Missing Tracks

    4 out of 5 stars
    Dda_Ifsvafh_OdbivnJune 29, 2024United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

The clean edition doesn't have the secret index song or "Death of a Carjacka" included. Also, a heads up, "Godd Complexx" is totally uncensored in this version.

  • P.E.'s Political Masterpiece

    4 out of 5 stars

This album is P.E.'s most unfiltered political statement, akin to Ice Cube's 'Lethal Injection'.

About Public Enemy

Public Enemy, the iconic hip-hop group hailing from Roosevelt, New York, burst onto the scene in 1985 with a mission to challenge the status quo. Founded by Chuck D and Flavor Flav, the duo quickly gained notoriety for their unapologetic political messages, tackling issues like American racism and media manipulation. Their breakthrough came with the critically acclaimed "It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back" in 1988, a landmark album that solidified their place in hip-hop history. With a dense, layered sound and radical political stance, Public Enemy's discography, including classics like "Fear of a Black Planet" and "Apocalypse 91... The Enemy Strikes Black," continues to inspire and provoke thought. Their anthem "Fight the Power" remains a rallying cry for social justice, making Public Enemy not just musicians, but cultural revolutionaries.
