The pressing does indeed resemble the mock-up image. However, it's not as "clear" as the 2017 US release.
My version has a couple of obvious cracks, some surface hissing, and a bit of sharpness, especially on "Lust for Life" with The Weeknd. Even with these flaws, which aren't too bad (I've encountered far worse), it generally sounds fantastic, and it's a real pleasure to listen to!
In my opinion, this is the definitive version of this classic album. It boasts a rich, warm sound that reveals previously hidden nuances in her vocals (particularly on "God Bless America"), plus the (superior) alternate takes on side 2. I admit, self-restraint isn't my strong suit, and I've lost count of how many copies of this vinyl I ownβoopsβbut this is the one I always reach for.
This record sounds absolutely flawless, it's a top-notch heavy weight pressing. The only downside is that my copy arrived faulty, there's a skip on "13 Beaches" that just won't quit, bummer. This black vinyl edition is becoming quite a rare find at a reasonable price. Lucky me, I snagged mine back in 2020 for a steal at $20 on Amazon. Can you believe it? Lol
