Some folks have griped about the vinyl pressing, saying it's a bit too quiet and has some clicks and pops. But hey, no shock there - each side is nearly 27 minutes long!!! On vinyl, loudness is physical. That means blasting volume takes up more space on the record. Most record makers say the sweet spot for 33.3 RPM is around 18 minutes per side. You can squeeze out decent quality at lower volume if the side is 18-22 minutes, but you might lose some low and high frequencies in the last 4-5 minutes, and there could be a bit of distortion. If the audio goes longer, they've gotta turn down the volume across the board and cut even more low and high frequencies to keep the amplitude in check. So, if you want this whole album on one record, this is your only shot - low volume, more low-end cuts, some distortion on the last two tracks, surface noise, and pops. But if you're after high-fidelity audio, hold out for a Double LP release (they'll probably drop one eventually). A few tracks on this album totally deserve a single-side 12" at 45 rpm... *Massive respect to Moz for another brilliant album of unique tunes, killer production, and badass lyrics. Wow!
The music and the pressing are both pretty good. Really hope Marr and Morrissey reunite sometime!
The UK edition came with a poster, it was numbered and limited to 300 prints (the one from the Camden pop-up store)
Good albums, but the vinyl pressing is poor quality, sounds lifeless and squashed. It deserves a remaster, much better on BLACK fresh vinyl, not that clear vinyl yuck...
Utterly underwhelming, truth be told, not a poorly made album but far from fulfilling.
