Significant Jazz Piece, and a Significant Jazz Artist
My serial numbers are S 64715-A and S 64715-B, but I'm positive it's the Dutch version.
The audio quality is incredibly rich and full-bodied. It's a fantastic pressing. Plus, the liner notes and essay are definitely included, just as advertised.
The initial copy I got had some annoying, distracting noise straight from the package. It was a faulty pressing. Also, there was no enclosure like it said there would be. The second replacement copy, though, is much quieter and did come with the enclosure. I adjusted the rating to reflect both copies I've had.
This is an amazing pressing of a truly outstanding album. Every detail shines through wonderfully, which is crucial since so much is happening all at once. Nothing sounds muddled, everything is perfectly balanced. I was worried about the longer sides at 45 rpm, but after listening to this, I can't imagine it sounding any better. I might try to find an original press in good condition to compare, but this pressing definitely doesn't let me down!
