Product description

Frank Sinatra's iconic album, In The Wee Small Hours, is a masterclass in emotive storytelling and timeless jazz. Released on 1 January 1955 via Capitol Records, this 49-minute masterpiece weaves a sonic tapestry that showcases Sinatra's unparalleled vocal prowess.

With a diverse tracklist that spans 17 exquisite tracks, including 'In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning', 'Mood Indigo', and 'What Is This Thing Called Love', Sinatra effortlessly navigates the realms of big band, adult standards, swing music, vocal jazz, and jazz. • Brilliant Mono Sound Quality

    5 out of 5 stars
    ZokcnIaseaJanuary 3, 2026United States🇺🇸

I weren't expecting such a fantastic sounding record, what with the master tape being in mono. Don't let that put you off, though. It's a brilliant release, with top-notch pressing and sound quality.

  • Best Version Ever

    5 out of 5 stars
    yrjukllasf942December 12, 2025United States🇺🇸

This is just amazing all around. Naturally, the tunes, but this is the best version out there. Sound quality, mixing, and the pressing are all top-notch. You gotta have this.

  • Sinatra's Astonishing Tone Poet

    5 out of 5 stars
    nlozqdexonomeDecember 8, 2025United States🇺🇸

Before this Tone Poet edition, I hadn't owned any Sinatra records, so I approached this one with no real expectations. I figured it would at least sound "pretty great" since Blue Note teamed up with Kevin Gray and RTI, but I didn't anticipate being completely blown away. That's exactly what happened. This record is astonishing, and a lot of that is due to the incredible sound of Sinatra's voice. Sometimes it's big and bold, other times it's light as a whisper, but no matter what, his vocals are always upfront, detailed, and dynamic, completely immersing you. The orchestral background blends seamlessly with Sinatra's amazing voice, creating a soundstage that fills the whole room and makes you feel like you're in a concert hall. It all sounds breathtaking throughout the entire album, and the excellent RTI pressing plays super quietly and spins perfectly flat. All of this for around $40! I don't own any other copies to compare, but I can't picture this sounding much better than it does. Kudos to KPG, RTI, and the Tone Poet series for another fantastic release!

  • Frank's Presence Perfectly Captured

    5 out of 5 stars
    sqwqj_684December 6, 2025United States🇺🇸

I own several versions of this album, but let me tell you, this one takes the cake. My copy is flawless, perfectly flat, incredibly quiet, and unlike some others, it has no distortion on those tricky tracks. It's an outstanding sounding pressing. You can truly feel Frank's presence in the room. It's mesmerizing and absolutely gorgeous.

  • Gorgeous Pressing, Grab Quick

    5 out of 5 stars
    wdzzluqlapunDecember 1, 2025United States🇺🇸

Absolutely gorgeous pressing, everything's been said already. Grab this before the resellers snatch it up!" (Note: "Resellers" is used instead of "scalpers" to convey the same meaning, and "snatch it up" is used to maintain the casual tone. The sentence structure is slightly varied, but the overall meaning and enthusiasm remain the same. The error "it's all covered" is mirrored with "everything's been said".)
